Panchina d’Oro: Mihajlovic wins Special Award for Coaches
As part of the ceremony for the 2018/19 Panchina d’Oro Awards held today in Coverciano, Sinisa Mihajlovic was awarded the ‘Special Award for Coaches’, an award given in recognition of “a professional in the field of football, educated by the Coverciano coaching school, who has particularly distinguished themself by projecting a positive message.”
Bologna’s Sporting Director Riccardo Bigon was there to collect the prize from Demetrio Albertini in Mihajlovic’s absence, saying: “As you all know, the Coach is not here today because he’s in hospital while undergoing treatment for two weeks. We hoped he could be here: this prize meant a lot to him. He is an example for us all and we have fought his battle together each and every day. We’ve seen first-hand that the Coach is the driving force behind this team, without him everything is harder.”
The Panchina d’Oro was awarded to Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta’s Coach, whilst Sinisa Mihajlovic came in second place.
