Bologna’s youth teams begin preparations for new season

Over the last few days, Bologna’s youth teams have started to prepare for the coming season with Daniele Corazza still at the helm of the Rossoblu academy.

After the excellent results he achieved with the U-17s last season, Paolo Magnani has moved to the “Primavera” side for players born from 1998 onwards (plus two born in 1997 and one player with no age limit). The Primavera championship begins on 10th September with a total of 42 teams participating over three divisions. The top two sides in each division will go directly through to the finals whilst the third-, fourth- and two best fifth-placed teams will qualify for a play-off round. Bologna Primavera started training yesterday in Sestola and will continue until Saturday 13th August when they take on Sassuolo in the first match of the Città del Vignola tournament. On Wednesday, they have a friendly against Donadoni’s first team at 5pm.

The Rossoblu can welcome back Emanuele Troise, a former player and former assistant to Lopez, who will coach the U-17s. His new side will train at the Niccolò Galli training ground this week before moving to Sestola on Saturday 13th. Their competitive season, for those born during 2000, will begin on 4th September.

The U-16 championship for those born in 2001 begins on 11th September. Danilo Collina’s boys start training today in Casteldebole and will take part in the Mijo Etlinger Tournament in Zagreb in Croatia from 18th to 21st August where they will face Honved Budapest, Zilina and a local representative side.

Francesco Morara’s U-15s will start their pre-season preparations at the Galli training ground on Tuesday 16th August. The side is made up of players born in 2002 and they will have a training camp at the health village in Monterenzio from 28th August to 2nd September before the season begins on 11th September.
