ARTEM DOVBYK JOINS BOLOGNA
Bologna FC 1909 can confirm the signing of striker Artem Dovbyk from AS Roma on loan until 30 June 2027, with an option to buy permanently.
The first Ukrainian player in the Club’s history, Artem is a modern centre-forward who combines physical strength, power and quality in the final third. Born in 1997, he completed his development in his homeland, first establishing himself with Dnipro-1 before making his mark on the European stage, earning a reputation for his goalscoring instinct, intelligent movement in behind defences and commanding presence inside the penalty area.
His performances over the past few seasons have established him as one of Europe’s most exciting strikers. He played a pivotal role in Girona’s remarkable third-place finish in La Liga in 2023/24, helping the Spanish side qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history. Dovbyk scored relentlessly, finishing the campaign as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.
He joined De Rossi’s Roma the following summer and scored 17 goals across all competitions in his debut season. He was unable to match those numbers in 2025/26 after a lengthy injury setback, but his move to Bologna marks another important step in his career. He will continue to establish himself as the focal point of every attack, thanks to his consistency, personality and outstanding eye for goal.
