Skorupski and Poland qualify for Qatar 2022

The ‘Rossoblù’ play-off between Poland and Sweden saw Bologna shot-stopper Lukasz Skorupski smiling as his team booked their ticket for the upcoming World Cup – though he remained an unused sub last night. Mattias Svanberg, meanwhile, came on in the 67th minute for Sweden. Gary Medel and Chile also missed on qualification for Qatar 2022 as they lost 2-0 at home to Uruguay – the Pitbull played the full 90 minutes.

Aaron Hickey made his second appearance for Scotland as he came on in the 58th minute in a 2-2 draw with Austria; Marko Arnautovic, meanwhile, played the whole game. Musa Barrow played the full 90 as Gambia managed a late 2-2 draw with Chad to book their spot in the next round of AFCON qualifying.

Neither Arthur Theate nor Michel Aebischer got on for Belgium (vs. Burkina Faso) and Switzerland (vs. Kosovo) respectively. Finally, Emanuel Vignato started and played 87 minutes in Italy U21’s 1-0 win over Bosnia as the Azzurrini maintained top spot in their U21 EURO qualifying group.
