Jens Odgaard joins Bologna

Bologna FC 1909 can announce that Jens Odgaard has joined the Club on loan with an option to buy from Alkmaar Zaanstreek until 30 June 2024.

The seventh Danish player in the Club’s history, Jens is a physically imposing centre-forward who boasts great technique and a good first touch, as well as being able to strike with either foot. He is rapid and agile in tight spaces, working as a striker or winger, and has a powerful and precise finish.

Rising through the age groups of the Danish National team, Odgaard was a star of the Inter Primavera at 18, scoring and winning the league with them as well as a Supercoppa and a Viareggio before moving to Sassuolo and making his Serie A debut in February 2019. Then, he made a loan move to Heerenveen in the Eredivisie where he set himself apart for consistency in front of goal, scoring 7 times in 24 games. Less stellar the following season, moving between Lugano and Pescara, but with RKC Waalwijk in the Netherlands he gained back some form, scoring consistently and drawing the attention of AZ, traditionally a great club for growing young talent. In 2022/23 he regularly bagged goals, assists, and appearances in the Conference League on his debut with the Kaaesboeren. Over the first half of the current season, he has played as a striker or on the right wing for a total of 17 appearances (4 starts) with a goal against Twente FC.
