Destro: “I’m pleased to have scored, I want to help the team stay up”

Comments from Mattia Destro after today’s draw:

“I’m disappointed with the result because we deserved to win today. It would’ve been the perfect day but I’m pleased to be back scoring again. I experienced a difficult period but that’s normal when you’re a striker and not scoring. Mihajlovic has given me confidence straight away and I was convinced that the performance would come. I know that everything is down to me out on the pitch but I feel that having the Coach’s confidence helps. I dedicate this goal to my wife considering it’s nearly Valentines Day and also to everyone who’s supported me, particularly our fans who’ve stood by me. I want to thank them. I’ve only scored one goal and I still haven’t achieved anything. I want to help the team and make sure that we stay up. I am sure that we’ll do it. This difficult period of late is also my fault. I should’ve given more when called upon. Physically, I’m a bit behind but I hope to get back to 100 per cent through training.”
