A history of Rossoblu representing the Azzurri

Following his debut in Amsterdam yesterday, Simone Verdi became the 52nd Bologna player to make at least one appearances for the Azzurri. The first came thanks to Emilio Badini on 31/8/1920 against Norway, who also scored a goal on his debut. From this 52, a total of 44 players have made their Italy debut whilst actually playing for Bologna. Prior to Verdi, Emiliano Viviano was the latest player to complete such a feat on 7/9/2010, who was then preceded by Carlo Vervo on 20/11/2002. Rossoblu players have scored a total of 61 goals for the Italian national team, the last coming from Emanuele Giaccherini against Belgium on 13/6/2016.
