Vincenzo Italiano commented on the team’s cup exit after the defeat:

“The only lapse in concentration today was just before the goal – we should have managed the situation better between Skorupski, Lucumí and Zortea, and we paid for it. Overall, I thought we played very well and I’m very disappointed, because we cared about this and truly believed we could go all the way. Now, we need to get back to winning ways in the league, and then there’s our European campaign to focus on for the remainder of the season.”
