Tomorrow we commemorate Arpad Weisz, as Bologna enters a European project against anti-semitism

Tomorrow, Wednesday 27 January, as part of the initiatives arranged for Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Arpad Weisz commemoration ceremony will be held at the Dall’Ara stadium in front of the plaque placed on the base of the Maratona tower. In attendance will be representatives from the Municipality of Bologna, the Jewish Community and Bologna FC 1909. Due to social distancing measures due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony will not be open to the public: it will be possible to follow it live on YouTube at 13.15 CET.

On this occasion, Bologna FC 1909 announces that it has been selected to collaborate on the “Changing the Chants” project, an international project conceived as part of the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program of the European Union. The project, born from the collaboration between Anne Frank House, Fare Network, Borussia Dortmund and Feyenoord Rotterdam, aims to identify educational methods to counter and prevent forms of racism and anti-Semitism in stadiums by analyzing the initiatives that European football teams put in place to raise awareness among their fans. For the many initiatives developed over the years on this issue, Bologna has been selected as a club that promotes good practices in the fight against anti-Semitism in European football.
