Thiago Motta’s post-match comments

Thiago Motta spoke on the win:

“Empoli gave us some trouble with their courage and enthusiasm, but our mentality was fantastic today. We are working a lot with Riccardo Orsolini on his progress, but the merit is his and I am happy with his focus, the work he did, the spaces he created, especially for Ferguson, and then obviously for the beautiful goal. We will bask in the moment, now our lads will rest and then look ahead to Inter. Joshua’s game? For me it was exceptional: he defended, attacked, played with skill, if he made an error he got on with it straight away. I am very happy with how he trains and how he plays”.
