Luogo di nascita Ascoli Piceno - Italia
He has qualities and talent as a proven forward and there is no doubt his first season with Bologna is only a taster of what can he offer the club. He is on the fringes of the national team and is one of the most talented forwards to be born in the 90s. Before joining Bologna he had scored 40 times in Serie A as a 24-year-old. He played three seasons with the likes of Roma and Milan.
He is a modern forward who moves well in the box, is strong in aerial battles and scoring is in his DNA. Destro has shown his ability to score since his time in the Inter youth teams and U16s national team. He needed only 6 minutes to score in his Serie A debut, when he was playing for Genoa, scoring against Chievo (12th September 2010, Genoa 1-3 Chievo). He scored prolifically for his previous sides, especially in an important season with Siena.
He is physically strong, controls the ball expertly and is pacey as well as possessing instinctive positioning. Roma saw those qualities and decided to sign him in summer 2012. Destro proved to be worth Roma’s large investment and he continued scoring regularly. He collected experience on an international level and was called up by Italy coach Prandelli. On that occasion he scored against Malta for the national side. For long time he had the highest goal average of the Serie A in 2013-14 season (13 goals in 20 matches, one every 93 minutes).
Before joining Bologna, he was playing with Roma and went on loan to Milan in January 2015.
