Lucumí joins the Rossoblù

Bologna FC 1909 are delighted to announce that defender Jhon Lucumí has joined the Club from KRC Genk.

Jhon is the third Colombian to represent Bologna and is a physically imposing, left-footed centre-back with bags of technical ability. Fresh from four stellar seasons with Genk in the Belgian top flight, including one league title and one national cup win, Lucumi has also featured in the Europa League and the Champions League, counting over 200 professional games in his career so far at the age of just 24. After breaking through with Deportivo Cali in Colombia, he moved to the Flanders region of Belgium in 2018 and had a breakout season in 2020/21. Jhon, who has been capped four times by his country, is a tough tackler with bags of pace and power, but he is also more than capable with the ball at his feet. He has in the past attracted the attention of various top European clubs, with a move to Catalan giants Barcelona having been on the cards last summer. But he is now a Bologna player, welcome Jhon!
