Inzaghi’s career

After 694 professional appearances and 316 goals scored, he finished his playing career as one of the most prolific goalscorers of all- time in Serie A and Europe.

Inzaghi’s managerial career began with the AC Milan youth sector before he took carge of their Allievi (Under-17) team for the 2012-13 season and the Primavera (Under-19) side for the 2013-14 season. In February 2014, his side beat Anderlecht in the final of the Viareggio Cup. At the start of June the same year, he became the AC Milan First Team Coach, making his Serie A debut on 31st August 2014 and he led the Rossoneri to tenth at the end of the season.

Newly-promoted to Lega Pro, Venezia put him in charge in the summer of 2016 and he led the side durning an exciting head-to-head race with Parma for promotion that lasted all season. In the end, Venezia won Group B with an impressive tally of 80 points thanks to their extremely solid defence and their ability to have players chip in with goals. He brought a sense of enthusiasm that revitalised football in the lagoon, also winning the Coppa Italia Lega Pro.

Their past season in Serie B was also a positive surprise with the Venetians competing for the top spots all season, constantly competing with the most-fancied teams in the competition, especially at the Stadio Penzo where they could play a tight game with lethal counterattacks that suited Venezia’s physical conditioning that always made them a threat.  The side scored a lot and were only stopped in the playoff semi-finals by Palermo as they went in search of back-to-back promotions. In June 2018, Filippo Inzaghi returned to Serie A to become the new Coach of Bologna.

Managerial Record:

38 Serie A matches (13 wins, 13 draws, 12 defeats)

45 Serie B matches (18 wins, 17 draws, 10 defeats)

38 Lega Pro matches (23 wins, 11 draws, 4 defeats)
