Inzaghi: “An exciting debut”

“I am pleased. We must improve but I liked the team’s spirit. It was an exciting debut for all of us and we wanted to gift the fans’ a good performance and we succeeded in doing so. We kept improving, particularly in the second half, and we barely risked anything. I have a good squad available, with individuals who want to do well. Progressing past this round in the Cup was something that I’ve targeted since my first day here. We must recognise that Padova put 10 men on the edge of the area and in Serie A this won’t happen very often. Perhaps, we should play the ball to the forwards’ feet more often, however, we’re happy. I don’t have the words to describe the 13,000 fans here tonight. We must earn their support every day. I really saw something quite extraordinary here tonight.”
