Everybody Plays Home: Bologna eSports qualify for the Final Eight

BARBA21 has been in fine form in the FIFA20 tournament reserved exclusively for eSerieA TIM teams. Bologna finished the first part of the competition in second place in their group, finishing behind Atalanta Esports.

Our gamer took to the virtual pitch and performed at a high level, scoring the most goals in Group A. Numerous spectators tuned into Barba21’s Twitch channel and eSerie A TIM’s YouTube channel to watch events unfold.

First round of fixtures

Bologna emerged 1-0 victors in the derby against S.P.A.L in their first match. It was then time to face Fiorentina. After an excellent first half where the Rossoblù took a 2-0 lead, Barba21 was pegged back, with the Viola even managing to go in front. However, our pro-player was able to equalise late on thanks to a brilliant free kick. The third match saw Bologna run out comfortable 4-1 winners against Lonewolf’s Sampdoria. The Rossoblù’s defeat against Atalanta was disappointing and allowed La Dea to overtake us at the top of the Group A standings.

Return round of fixtures

S.P.A.L won a closely fought contest thanks to a single first-half goal. Barba21 then made a slow start in Bologna’s next match against Fiorentina as the Viola went ahead early on, but our gamer managed to turn things around and win 1-2. Lonewolf’s Blucerchiati were then defeated by the same scoreline (1-2). In Bologna’s final match of the group stage, Danipitbull’s Atalanta, who were pinned back for much of the game, struck twice on the counter to once again get the better of the Rossoblù.
