Denswil’s career so far

A strong left-footed centre-back with a good deal of experience in European football, Denswil has already played an important role at Ajax and Club Brugge at the age of 26. Used to competing for titles, he has played in 19 Champions League matches and made seven Europa League appearances. He’s an explosive and physical player with great technical ability that was honed in the renowned Ajax youth system and he’s shown it over his seven years spent as a professional. He’s excellent on the ball for a stopper and impressive in the air.

In Belgium since 2015, he has enjoyed a great deal of success over four years at Brugge. There, he won two titles, two Supercups and one Belgian Cup. A defender with an eye for goal (10 in 177 appearances), he likes to take free kicks and while playing in the Netherlands he scored a great goal against Andrea Stramaccioni’s Inter from a dead ball in the final of the Next Gen Series. A catalyst at the back, he gets involved and looks to move the ball. In July 2019, Denswil joined Bologna on a permanent deal to become the third Dutch player in our history.
