#BFCFiorentina: Bfc Without Barriers, on the International Day for People with Disabilities

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, the youngsters of the BFC Senza Barriere project will be at the Dall’Ara for a tour of the pitch before the #BFCFiorentina match taking place on Sunday at 12:30 CET.

BFC Without Barriers is the project founded in 2018 from the understanding between Bologna and EDU In-Forma(Zione) Renzo Cerè Bologna: an inclusive football academy dedicated to girls and boys with disabilities, which aims to use sport as a tool for the development of autonomy and creativity, for the achievement of greater personal psychophysical well-being, for an improvement in social inclusion, integration through the development of social skills and to break down any barriers.

In spite of the delays caused by the pandemic, which put activities on hold from October 2020 to April 2021, Giovanni Grassi – president of the project – along with the help of the many volunteers, made it possible for the sixty or so girls and boys (aged 5 to 30) from Bologna, Castel San Pietro Terme and Imola to get back onto the pitch and resume training.

In addition, we are resuming initiatives that help spread further awareness: following the 1st Summer Camp held last year at the Villaggio della Salute Più, on Saturday 6 November Diego Tarini’s Under 15 Women’s team took part in a joint training session at the conference “Sport and Social Inclusion” organised by the Cadiai cooperative. For the occasion, the players were divided into four teams, creating a small tournament. The same competition was also played on Wednesday 24 November, but with the Esordienti 2009 of the Scuola Calcio under the banner of “Sport per Tutti Calciando la Dis-Abilità”.

In anticipation of the second Erasmus in Malta, hosted by the friends of Frame Football Malta, taking place during Easter 2022, BFC Without Barriers will take part in its first regional 5-a-side football championship for disabled youngsters.
The eleven teams are divided into two groups, the rossoblù are in group A and will play at the Castel San Pietro Terme facilityund. Below, the schedule:
