Amey gets Italian citizenship
It was a goal that Wisdom never tried to hide his desire for, and yesterday he reached it: in the Comune of Marostica (VI), Amey officially received his Italian citizenship after turning 18 on August 11.
It was a very important day for the Rossoblù defender, with his parents alongside him, Bose Jacob and Akakpo Amey, who supported his wishes after arriving in Italy at the start of 2000. Beside him, lawyer Leonardo Rebecchi responsible for the legal documentation and Marostica councilman, Renato Bertolin. Wisdom said: “It was a wonderful feeling, unforgettable. The councillor was immediately welcoming, he said “We did it!”. His words really made me happy”.
Amey has already written a page in the Bologna and Serie A history books, becoming the youngest ever debutant at 15 years and 274 days: “I have incredible memories of that evening, but two years have passed and you need to look ahead. Last season was unfortunate because I didn’t play very much, I want to be more consistent this time round”.
