Saputo to Sky: “Whether it be here or in Montreal, Bologna are always in my thoughts”

President Joey Saputo this morning spoke to Sky at the Macron-Bfc Store in Galleria Cavour and this is what he had to say during his interview: “It’s true that I haven’t been in Bologna for a while, but my heart is always here. I am in contact with my directors every day, even in Montreal and I follow the daily activities at the club. I have a lot of work commitments and this is the only reason for my absence over the past few months. Up until now I am pleased with the squad’s performance and I think that you can already see signs of improvement in comparison to last year. We are still focused on continuity by not selling any of our best young players and I am convinced that a year of added experience pays off in the end. As for the club’s balance after our years of management, one must consider that he took over a club that was in decline. We have since invested almost €100 million, making changes to both the structure and the squad. We have made sure of the club’s stability and credibility and I would say that we are in line with our expectations. In terms of Palacio’s strong start, obviously I am pleased. Particularly for our young players, he is a player whose experience is always needed. Rodrigo is doing really well.”

Touching on tonight’s match against Inter and the new Macron-Bfc store, Saputo then had this to say: “We go into every game trying to get a result,” he concluded. “Let’s hope we can do so against the Nerazzurri. I think it is important to have a shop like this in the centre of the city. It is an important point of reference for the fans and a good selling point for the club.”
