Post-match reactions

Raffaele Palladino reflected on the team’s first win of the season: “The three points came after a tough battle, but they’re hugely important. We were looking for that spark, which the team really needed. There are certainly plenty of areas where we can improve, and we mustn’t let this win fool us into thinking otherwise. I’m happy for the lads, who deserved this moment, but we still need to keep our heads down and work hard.”

Nicolò Cambiaghi spoke to DAZN after the game: “Winning today was crucial. It was never going to be easy to get a result at this ground, and it was a tough game, but we showed that we’re a real team and that we’d prepared well. I’m happy to have played my part in the win. This was a game we needed to win to get back on track and send an important message to everyone, especially ourselves. I think we did everything right, and I’m much happier with the final result than with my assists. The national team? It’s always an incredible feeling to wear the Azzurri shirt. It’s every child’s dream, and every appearance is an honor. I hope I get to wear it as many times as possible.

Jay Enem, who scored Bologna’s winner to make it 2-1, spoke to DAZN after the game: “I’m happy with the win, with scoring my first goal for Bologna and with my performance. Today’s victory was really important for us. We have all the qualities we need to keep going like this, and that’s exactly what we’ll aim to do. When the coach sent me on, I was happy to come on and give my best to help the team. Palladino is an excellent coach who pushes us to work very hard. If we keep our heads down and carry on like this, I’m sure more good things will come.”

Nadir Zortea gave his thoughts after full-time: “We always stayed compact, fought hard and looked for each other on the pitch. Despite the fatigue, we put in a good performance in the second half, and I’m happy with that. Since Palladino arrived, we’ve worked hard on our fitness and become more aggressive. It’s a different style of play from what we had before. We struggled at first, especially physically, but now we want to keep making progress week by week and achieve the goals we’ve set for ourselves in the dressing room.”
