Post-match reactions, Cremonese 1-2 Bologna
Joao Mario, MVP of the game, had this to say: “We knew we had to go into the game with intensity and aggression right from the first minute, and we did that whilst maintaining control of the game. We’re taking home three very important points. Now we can focus on our Europa League fixture on Thursday. I’m very happy to have scored my first goal in the league, but I’m even happier about the win for the team.”
Vincenzo Italiano after victory at the Zini: “There couldn’t have been a better approach, we got off to a fantastic start. I really enjoyed the first half. We managed the early pressure well and had the chances to go 3-0 up. In the second half, it wasn’t quite the same, but we should never forget that winning away in Serie A is not easy, anywhere.”
Juan Miranda also spoke after the game: “Today was a must-win both for the standings and for team spirit because on Thursday we face a big game in the Europa League. Italiano relies a lot on us full-backs, today it was crucial to win our duels. Joao Mario and I had a great game, and we also contributed with two assists and a goal. On Thursday we face Aston Villa at home. They are a strong side, but after today’s win we are feeling confident.”
