“We needed more tempo and quality in the final third, because they were defending deep. We played well, but the pace was too slow. We also should have taken advantage of our set pieces. Sometimes the coach asks us full-backs to run into the action when the ball is in the other half, so I tried my luck from distance because it felt like the right thing to do in that moment. I didn’t see any signs of fatigue out there. In my opinion playing every three days is helping us to build momentum, especially mentally. The coach was following the game from the locker room. We missed him today, his presence gives us energy and we can’t wait to have him back in the dug-out.”
