Helander: “It hurts to lose in this way”

Helander spoke after Atalanta won 2-1 against Bologna at the Dall’Ara:

“It hurts to lose in this way, and by that I mean when you’re winning 1-0 and then concede two goals in the second half. We played well in the first half and then perhaps the fear of losing took hold of us or they started to play better and we got a bit tired. It goes without saying that we can’t concede the goals we did, but this can happen in football. Sometimes goals can come from long-distance efforts and sometimes they are the result of our mistakes; I don’t believe the only problem is the defence.”

A crushing defeat in terms of the atmosphere in the dressing room? “It hurts to lose and look at the table at the moment, but we need to take it one game at a time. We’ve got a good group here and we’re training well. We play as a team and therefore we have to keep on looking forward.”

Sunday’s game against Chievo? “Three points are up for grabs in all the games we play, but looking at the table the game against Chievo is a must-win.”
