Fenucci: “We’re focusing on Empoli. Mihajlovic? We have an ambitious project to keep him”

CEO Claudio Fenucci spoke today to Sky: “It’s an important game but not decisive as there are five games left. If the team shows the same intensity from the last games, we can get the win. Obviously, Empoli will be very motivated and it will be a good clash. The Coach has shaken the team up in the way that I hoped. There have been improvements from how the team has played and the results, also thanks to the January signings. Mihajlovic? We have another year left on his contract but he has our word that we’ll let him go if a big offer comes in, especially from abroad. We’ll certainly do everything to try and convince him to stay however. We’re proposing a real and ambitious technical project. At the moment, however, we can only think of the end of the season.

“The situation is the same for the sporting director, there are evaluations that need to be made when the dust settles, also out of respect for those working alongside the team. There haven’t been any meetings and there aren’t any scheduled. It’s true that I have lots of friends in this role but this doesn’t mean they’re coming to Bologna. As I said, we’ll make our evaluations along with the Chairman at the end of the season.

“Orsolini? He’s doing very well, a positive spirit in the team can help youngsters to develop, he’s benefitted from it as are others who are performing consistently. The lad is happy in Bologna, we have an option in his deal to keep him so he’ll have to keep showing what he can do and we’ll evaluate our options about making the deal permanent.”
