Edera’s career

A quick and opportunistic left-footed winger, Simone Edera developed at the Torino Academy before making his debut for the First Team. He was a key figure in the 2014-15 season when the Granata won the Primavera championship. His Serie A debut came in April 2016 under Ventura. After spending time on loan between Venezia and Parma in Serie C, Sinisa Mihajlovic decided to add him to the squad after he impressed in pre-season in the summer of 2017. He spent a lot of time on the bench early before exploding in December with his first goal during a 3-1 win at Lazio. Edera found the net with a great placed effort from the edge of the box. He was then waylaid by injury, before returning at the end of the season, often featuring on the wing or as a support striker behind Belotti. His Italy Under-21 debut came in March a year ago during a friendly against Norway. This season, he scored against Sudtirol in the Coppa Italia and he has made three Serie A appearances. In January 2019, he joined Bologna on loan.
