Dream debut for Corazza
Corazza was born in Bologna on 29 June 2004. A right-footed full-back who can play on both flanks, he has been at the Rossoblù since joining our football school in 2009. He is the fourth player born in 2004 to make his first team debut following Urbanski, Raimondo, Stivanello and Bagnolini, and the first of those to score a competitive goal.
At 19 years, one month and 13 days, he became the fourth-youngest player to score on his debut in the Coppa Italia for the Club after Mohamed Kallon, Marino Perani and Algiso Toscani.
Tommaso has always stood out for his dedication, sense of duty, and respect for the Club and his teammates. All these factors led to him being given a start in yesterday’s Coppa Italia game against Cesena, his debut for his boyhood Club. At U15 and U16 levels, he played either as a central number 10 or out wide and, in 2018/19, he was instrumental for Francesco Morara’s side, scoring five goals as they reached the Scudetto Round of 16. The following season, under Denis Biavati, he made 17 appearances and scored three goals before the season was cut short.
While in the Under-17s, Luca Vigiani converted him into a full-back. He improved immeasurably in the defensive phase but retained his attacking ability and decision-making in the final third. He ended the season with 13 matches played, three goals and a Scudetto semi-final. A few months later, he was promoted to the Primavera, by then under Vigiani, and was often played as a wingback flanking three central defenders. He finished the season with 26 appearances for the Primavera and six for the U18s. Last season, he took control of the left flank – in a back four – and played there from matchday 6 until the end of the season, not missing a single game. He was subbed off just twice and chipped in with four goals. In total, he made 31 appearances in all competitions. This summer, head coach Thiago Motta took him to Valles pre-season where he featured in a few friendlies. Then, yesterday, Motta handed him his first-team debut and he scored in the second minute of the match.
