Ciao, Romano

This morning, Romano Fogli passed away at the age of 83. Bologna is deeply saddened to hear about the loss of one of its most beloved icons. Fogli made 344 appearances in our shirt from 1957 and 1968, playing a key role alongside Bulgarelli in midfield. Romano, who also took to the pitch for Italy, won the 1961 Mitropa Cup and Scudetto title in 1964, scoring the opener against Inter in that memorable Championship tie-breaker. In the second part of his career, he continued to win titles with AC Milan, while he would also go on to coach Bologna in the 1990s.
