Post-match thoughts from Rowe and Bernadeschi

Jonathan Rowe spoke after securing qualification for the Round of 16:

“I’m happy. We wanted to qualify at all costs — it required a tough, focused performance and we prepared well. In the second half we probably could have scored one or two more, but the end result was the same.”

Federico Bernardeschi added:

“A great night. They started by creating danger from set pieces, but once we had the extra man we controlled the match. In the second half we raised the intensity, found the breakthrough and fully deserved to advance to the next stage of the competition.”
