New wing at the Niccolò Galli training centre officially opened

The new wing of the Niccolò Galli training centre was unveiled today to the press, sponsors and local authorities. The new part of the facility contains changing rooms, medical rooms, a video analysis room and storage space and it will be available from this week for the first team and youth teams to use.

To cut the ribbon with Chairman Joey Saputo was Niccolò Galli’s father Giovanni Galli who was invited to open the facility named in his son’s honour along with Luciano Marchesini who is the Honorary President of Galotti, the company who owned the sporting facility until it was recently bought by the club. Mayor Virginio Merola was present along with the council member for sport Matteo Lepore, council member for health Luca Rizzo Nervo and the Auxiliary Bishop Ernesto Vecchi.

Built on one floor, the structure covers a space of 1678 square metres with one area dedicated to the first team and another to the various Rossoblu youth teams.

In the first team’s area, there is a conference room along with offices for match analysis, changing rooms for the staff, medical and massage rooms. The players’ changing room leads out directly to pitch one and it is connected to a room with ice baths, a sauna and warm water pools.

In the youth team’s area, there are five changing rooms for the Primavera, Under-17, Under-16. Under-15 and Giovanissimi sides. There are two changing rooms for the technical staff. There is also a massage and physiotherapy room, storage space and a laundry.

The wing was built with advanced electrical efficiency technology and it has an overall rating of A3.

Solar panels on the roof are capable of generating up to 63.84 kilowatts and that adds up to an annual total of 69000 kilowatts.

Furthermore, there is also a rainwater collection system on the roof which allows water to be used for irrigation.

Work began in July 2016 and was carried out by Ter Costruzioni Srl and S.A.P.A.B.A Spa with around 40 people at work daily. The interior fittings were managed by Gruppo Sabtini Srl.

This new wing and four new training pitches represent the first stage of refurbishment work at the Niccolò Galli centre which will be completed with the renovation of the main building in the summer and the extension of the gym next season.
