Born in Pisa on the 14th June 1994, Federico Di Francesco is the son of ex-footballer and current Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco. He is a winger whose primary strength is his speed. Having come through the ranks at Pescara, he moved to Parma in 2014 but then went out on loan to Gubbio. In January 2014, he returned to Pescara on loan before joining Cremonese in August where he scored five goals in 27 appearances. Because of Parma’s collapse, Di Francesco made a permanent move to Virtus Lanciano in 2015. He made a name for himself in the second division last year with eight goals in 31 appearances.
On the 17th March 2016, Di Francesco earned his first call-up from Italy U21 coach Luigi Di Biagio.
