Rest in peace Angelo Boccardi, heartfelt condolences sent from Bologna

Angelo Boccardi, who wore the Bologna jersey between the end of the 1940s and the beginning of the 1950s, passed away in recent days at the age of 92. Born in Livraga on 11 February 1928 and having grown up in Codogno, he arrived in Bologna in 1947 as the third-choice goalkeeper behind Vanz and Vasirani, but his ability between the sticks soon made his value to the squad rise. Having returned in 1948 from a loan at Pescara, he became a regular starter in the 1949-50 season and came close to earning a place in the National team, only for a serious injury to one of his hands stopping him and hindering him for an extended period of time. After another experience on loan (at Atalanta in the 1954-55 season), he transferred to Bergamo in 1956. In total, he made 41 appearances for the Rossoblù.

Bologna Fc 1909 send their most heartfelt condolences to his family.
