Bigon to Radio 24: “Three fantastic points, both for our league position and Sinisa”

Bologna Sporting Director Riccardo Bigon was interviewed today on Radio 24 when taking part in the programme “Tutti convocati”. These were some of his comments: “Yesterday’s win made us happy on two fronts: our league position has improved and we’re delighted for Mihajlovic, who deserved to feel such joy after these difficult four and a half months. His absence has no doubt cost us in terms of points, but we’ve never wanted this to become an excuse. I think you’ll have a hard time finding a team who can go without their coach for four months without suffering the consequences.

“The idea of the team attending the press conference on Friday came from the lads: they wanted to demonstrate the bond they have with the Coach. His arrival last season was a watershed moment after we’d started the season poorly. We went on to finish well, achieving tenth place. The press conference was important, but even more so was the work done during the week and his presence on the training pitch. Sinisa is a coach who makes an impact, a void is evident when he’s not there. Despite this, his staff deserve applause for the way they’ve worked over these past few months.”
